Acceptance of these terms

This website (keepthesheep.com.au) and our related electronic services — including email newsletters, petitions, campaign tools and social media pages (together, our Services) — are owned and operated by Farming Families and Communities WA Ltd (ABN 56 677 294 585), trading as Keep the Sheep (we, us, our).

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our Services.

We may vary or amend these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page or when we otherwise notify you. We encourage you to check this page from time to time.

Communications

By signing up, signing a petition, making a donation or otherwise providing us with your contact details, you agree that we may communicate with you about our campaigns, activities, events and services, including by electronic messages. You can unsubscribe from our communications at any time using the link in any email we send you, or by contacting us.

Use of our Services

Unless expressly stated otherwise, our Services are provided solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

You must not:

• use our Services for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable or impair them;
• harvest, scrape or collect any personal information, email addresses or other data made available through our Services, or use any such information to send unsolicited messages or build any other database;
• frame, mirror or manipulate any part of our Services, or link to them in a way that misrepresents their origin or our views, without our prior consent; or
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our Services or related systems.

Your submissions

Our Services allow you to make submissions to us, including petition signatures, stories, comments, survey responses, questions and other content.

When you make a submission, you agree that:

• we may publish, republish (including on our website, in our campaign materials and on social media), edit, adapt, format or remove your submission at our discretion, at any time and without notice, and you consent to acts that might otherwise infringe your moral rights in the submission;
• when you sign a petition or open letter or contact a decision-maker through our Services, your name, state and postcode may be included in materials presented to parliament or decision-makers;
• your submission is your own, is not misleading, defamatory or discriminatory, does not vilify or insult any person, does not breach any law, and does not infringe the copyright or other rights of any third party;
• where you provide information about another person, you are responsible for ensuring they are aware of and agree to our handling of that information; and
• you are responsible for any claims arising from material you submit, and you indemnify us and our officeholders, employees, agents, contractors and volunteers against any such claims.

We do not necessarily endorse content submitted by supporters, and we are under no obligation to verify it. As a general rule we do not publish submissions containing links to external websites. We will not publish your email address unless you have included it in your submission or asked us to.

Intellectual property

All content, media, trade marks, logos and other material provided through our Services (including all copyright and other rights in them) are our property or the property of our licensors. You may view our Services and print or electronically copy parts of them solely for your personal, non-commercial use. Any other reproduction, modification, distribution, transmission, republication, display or performance of that material is prohibited without our consent.

Some content on our Services may be reproduced under the fair dealing provisions of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), including for the purposes of news reporting, criticism, review, parody or satire. Any alleged infringement of copyright is unintentional and will be addressed if brought to our attention.

AI-generated material

Our Services may include images, audio or video created or edited using artificial intelligence or similar technologies. Where a reasonable person may not understand that material has been substantially generated or altered by AI and is not a factual depiction of a real person, event or scene, we will clearly identify it. We will not knowingly publish AI-generated material that is materially deceptive about the identity, statements or conduct of any real person, or about electoral processes, and we will remove or correct any such content brought to our attention. Some AI-generated material may be in the nature of parody, satire or other clearly expressive content.

Information provided through our Services is general information only and is not professional advice. You should make your own enquiries and obtain appropriate advice before making any decision or taking any action in reliance on it. We use reasonable care in preparing our materials, but information may be provided by third parties and other users and we do not guarantee that it is complete, current or accurate.

We do not guarantee that our Services or any file available through them will be free of viruses or other harmful code, and we will not be liable for any delays or interruptions in the provision of our Services. You should use up-to-date security software.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and you submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia. Our Services are intended for use within Australia; if you access them from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you are. If any provision of these terms is invalid in any place, it is invalid only in that place and to that extent, without affecting the remaining provisions. The word "including" is not to be read as limiting the words that precede it.
